The Boys, wondering

Why don't she write more?

I'm a slow writer, as anyone who's looked at this site over the last couple of years will attest. And, having taken the "Which Poet are You?" quiz, I now understand why.

Too many poets putting an armlock on each other in this fried circuit of a brain!

To whit (quoted from the site, with my comments in square [] brackets):

You are Robert Frost
You've had your fair share of acclaim and criticism. You have the desire to share your thoughts and knowledge with others. [Well, I DO have a website....] You view life as a challenge that you are prepared for! Nature inspires you. [Not touching that last one....]

You are Dorothy Parker
You are cynical, bitter, and bitchy! Too bad you are so preoccupied with love [I do write slash!] and unhappy with life. It's okay, your wit has made you very popular. By the way, aren't all men pigs? [Not when I can slash them!]

You are Alfred Lord Tennyson
You are very analytical and like to debate. You want truth and beauty. For you, it seems that every cloud has a silver lining. You believe it is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. [Perfect summation of a slash writer!]

You are Maya Angelou
You have a strong sense of self and have faith in your abilities. You are an optimist and believe that things can get better if people work together. [Especially if they're two guys working out their love life!] You also have faith in humanity. [Especially if they're two guys working out their love life!]

You are e.e. cummings
Your use of the English language is not bound to any grammatical or even logical standards. You live your life with rhythm and passion and find yourself constantly searching for meaning by traveling or in new relationships. [Perhaps why I write about two guys lost in space?]

You are Emily Dickinson
You are reclusive and imaginative. Not too many people know the real you, as you almost always keep your emotions locked up inside. You have a devout belief in God yet can be, at times, curiously analytical. Even still, you have passion and longing teaming beneath your surface that only a select few will ever know. You tend to deny your loneliness. [Well, don't we all? Think dear Emily was a secret slash writer? :)]

[And, my favorite, and accurate in the extreme....]:

You are William Shakespeare
You have a certain eloquence [Aw, shucks!] and stoicism about you that is juxtaposed at times with a most peculiar sense of humor. Your world is orderly and simultaneously romantic. [Well, I do write slash....] You are able to note beauty in the old and the new. Just keep in mind that passion and order are often at opposite ends of the spectrum. ["Passion & order:" must be why I love Vecchio&Fraser, and Paris&Chakotay!]

All those poets jostling for attention: no wonder these stories take so long to write! :)

Don't YOU miss finding your inner poet!
